Capital Hearing Paediatric Audiology

Capital Hearing’s audiologists, Debbie Bennett and Bruce Allen provide professional, comprehensive paediatric diagnostic hearing assessments. The clinic rooms at the Health Hub have been custom-built to perform hearing tests on children from the age of 6 months. The clinic is equipped with a Visual Reinforcement Orientation Audiometry (VROA) system which is used to test babies and toddlers who cannot be tested in the way older children and adults can. In addition to behavioural hearing testing, objective tests of hearing and middle ear function that do not require any response from the child are used. Paediatric Assessments vary depending on the child’s age and abilities and the most appropriate tests are used to assess the child on the day of the appointment. Medicare rebates apply for most assessments with a GP or ENT referral.
